Gian Luca Nigro is a contemporary composer specializing in TV and film scores. His work spans cinema and television, where he blends elegance and delicacy with cinematic intensity and grandeur, creating immersive and evocative sonic experiences.
His passion for music began at an early age when he started studying piano at the “G. Martucci” Conservatory in Salerno. This classical training provided him with the technical and theoretical foundations that Gian Luca later enriched by exploring contemporary musical languages and electronic composition techniques.
His initial compositional projects were for theatrical performances, an area that allowed him to experiment with various styles and narrative forms. Over the years, Gian Luca has collaborated with numerous musical ensembles, engaging with different musical languages and enriching his expressive dimension. This versatility has enabled him to develop a unique voice capable of conveying complex emotions through sound.
Since 2009, Gian Luca has solidified his career as a music consultant and composer, contributing original compositions, themes, and jingles to major Italian television programs, including Pechino Express, MasterChef Italia, Così Lontani Così Vicini, I Soliti Ignoti, PresaDiretta, Stasera Tutto è Possibile, and Affari Tuoi. His ability to adapt his compositional style to various formats and atmospheres has made him a sought-after collaborator in the Italian television landscape.
Among his most significant works are the soundtracks for the documentary Awlad – Hesiak Gainditu (2019), the film Socialmente Pericolosi (2018) starring Vinicio Marchioni and Fortunato Cerlino, co-produced by Rai Cinema, and the documentary Il Caso Craxi (2020) for Sky Arte.
