Awlad, “children” in Arabic, is the story of two young girls and two boys who have fled the war. The film follows their path toward integration in four different countries—either the final destination of their journey or a place of transit. Each child has a different level of access to formal education.
Ane Irazabal is a Spanish freelance journalist. She has covered the Arab Spring and the coup in Egypt, and she lived in Palestine, where she reported on the last two Gaza wars. Since 2013, she has been working on migration issues in the Middle East and Europe. She collaborates with Basque Television ETB and with Nemo – Nessuno escluso on Rai 2.
